iPod Shuffle - How's the sound?

I have been debating on picking up the shuffle for running and working out with even though I have a 30 Gig iPod, I just find it to big to run with. I was holding out hoping Apple would raise the storage to 2 GB but oh well. I have heard that the sound quality is lower with the shuffle. Can anyone confirm this or is it so marginal that it won't really matter?

I don't know the difference between the technical aspects of the audio output, but I have owned an original shuffle, an iPod photo, an iPod mini, a 2G Shuffle, and an iPhone.

They all have sounded amazing with even the stock earbuds, and really shine with higher end headphones.

My opinion is that you'd be more than satisfied with the sound quality of a new Shuffle, and the price really can't be beat for an option that small. I mean, the thing is pretty much weightless and holds around 20 albums, it's really an amazing device.
