itunes inbuilt video converter help

what files can the video converter built into itunes convert? can it convert divx into ipod format?

I'm talking about the itunes inbuilt video converter as shown here:

And what about if i had an MPEG4 video,if i import it into itunes then copy it to my ipod,would it need converting?



and can i copy a mpeg4 video onto my ipod using My computer,and exploring my ipod's drive? then how would i watch it on my ipod?

No I don't think DivX is supported but you shouldn't have any issues with mp4.

You can find DivX tools on MacUpdate.

Unless you have something against it you should use iSquint, it's free and for me it seems a lot faster than iTunes, it can convert DivX's and almost every video filetype imaginable.
