Verizon switching to GSM by 2013





Verizon may get iPhone?



Nothing's official, but it looks like Verizon will try to grab the 3G version of the iPhone, or if Verizon does switch to GSM, unlocking will the trick.

    Verizon is using the 4G GSM standard LTE for their future upgrades (instead of revision C of EV-DO) they're not actually switching to GSM/EDGE (or even UMTS).



    So any iPhone on their network would still have to be basically CDMA/EV-DO until 2020 or so when they actually have good LTE coverage.
