Final Cut Studio 2 questions
Hiya
I am buying my first apple as I need to run final cut pro studio 2.
I am looking at a 15" system for better portability.
I heard Color on Final Cut Studio 2 only runs on a 17", does this mean I cant even open it on a 15" at all?
Is there a 2.2 GHZ mac that comes with a 256MB graphics card?
If so is there much difference between that and the 2.4GHZ system as I want to save money so would rather get the 2.2 GHZ?
Since I have never owned a mac before would u recommend waiting for Leopard as I can start on a new footing?
Thanks
Tyrone

Usually Apple make a set of requirements and embed them inside the application which prevents them launching if they aren't met. You can change them easily. It's not the screen size that matters but the resolution, it says 1680x1050 minimum. I'm sure I've run Color on a 1280x1024 display though, I can check tomorrow. If so, it'll be fine on a 15" MBP.

The second config iMac would satisfy this but that's no good if you want a laptop. There are no laptops that offer this. I wouldn't say there's that much difference between the 2.2 and 2.4. For Motion, Apple recommends 256MB but doesn't require it.
CPU-wise I'd say you wouldn't notice at all but I don't know how much better a 256MB card would be if you really want to get into using Motion. If Motion isn't going to play a big part in what you do then go for the 128MB card.

At this point in time, I probably would as we're talking 4 weeks or so until it's released and it'll save you some money. Leopard has a good amount of speed improvements so it will make for a better experience overall.
