Is there any way to look at the bios settings on my G4 iMac like I can on a PC?
Your iMac G5 runs Open Firmware, an open standard firmware developed by Apple, IBM, and Motorola (now Freescale). You may boot into Open Firmware by pressing [Apple]+[o]+[f] while starting up. Before you go mucking with Open Firmware, however, I suggest that you locate its documentation on the Internet, download it, and read it.

The G4 does not have a BIOS.
It does not have toggle switches either.
There is the firmware which boots the machine before the OS is loaded.
It can do useful stuff like turn your Mac in to a firewire hard-drive.
But it won't let you do things like assign IRQ numbers to your parallel port,
C.

Open firmware, or OpenBoot, was developed by Sun Microsystems.
