Dual Layer recognized as blank

Hello-

I don't know much about dual layer disks and I wonder if someone can help me out? I was given a dual layer disk with some video in QT on it. When I put the disk into my drive (first time for DL), the computer recognizes it as a blank disk. Now here's the weird part... If I "get info" on the disk, It tells me that the disk has a capacity of 8 terabytes (not gigabytes) and that there is zero space on the disk. When I physically look at the disk, I can clearly see that the disk is full.

That was yesterday. Now when I put the disk in, it spins around a bit and then spits it out. Again, I know nothing about dual layer disks. Do I need to upgrade my drive in order to read dual layer? Is it a bug? Maybe a firmware upgrade?

Anybody got any insights? It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

-Jeff

A quick google on that drive model leads me to believe that it is NOT a daul layer drive. While it is capable of reading commercial DVD "movie" discs that might be dual layer, it wouldn't be able to read dual layer "data" discs such as yours.
