What's the best PC game controller?

I'm going to be using for sports games, specifically Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007.

    I like the PS2 controller, you get an adaptor for it.



    I don't know how well supported it is but the adaptor worked on a couple of games I tested on OS X and Windows.
