Freeware (or cheap shareware) for editing AIFF files?

Something like CoolEdit (PC WAV editing app) would be ideal...I'm archiving a bunch of vinyl, and while Audio Recorder is working great for getting tunes into AIFF and MP3 format, I want to tidy them up a little as well. Anybody know of an app that I might want to take a look at?

Audacity for OS X, SoundEffects for OS 9.

Both are free, and works. can't get much cheaper than that..

Sound Studio (search for it on VT) is a pretty cool shareware app. Check that out too.

Sound Studio is not free, but it is an amazing, stable, functional .aiff editor/recorder.
