Its been fun being a Mac user, but it's time for me to get real.

I need a 2 GHz CPU. 800 MHz don't cut it anymore.

I need a Gefore 3 Ti.

I need DDR RAM.

If Apple wont make my "dream box", then I will make it myself.

Too bad Apple. You lost a10+ year customer today.

See ya

    It was good having you.

    See you in two years.

I couldn't find the reference to future hardware in your thread though.

Dude I think I'm gettin a Dell. "shocking" is the only word that describes it. I don't know what I'm going to do know. But I do know that for the first time ever, a PC is a possibility for me

Do you really think that Apple's not going to upgrade the Power Macs in the next few weeks? I mean honestly look at the facts.

    $1700

    PM G4 733

    128MB

    Nivida 2mx 32 MB

    CDRW

40GB 5400 RPM HDNo monitor included

    $1200

    iMac G4 700

    128MB

    Nivida 2mx 32 MB

    CDRW

    40GB 5400 RPM HD

    15" LCD

Think about it for a bit. How many PM's you think their going to sell? Apples not stupid, they know they're selling none, therefore it'll be updated ASAP.

Up to you. Don't let the door hit you on your way out ...

If I didn't love OSX so much and hate Windows so much then I might consider switching...... Apple had better upgrade the PMs SOON!!

Talk about over-reacting. If speed is all you care about, then I don't know why you bought a mac in the first place. The faster towers will come, don't worry, but you will regret going to windows, trust me.

It's probably something like 200fps more....

    With a 2Ghz P4 you can easily get 400+ fps in q3

    WAAAAAAAH WAAAAAAAAH WAAAAAAAAAH

Some will leave, tons more will come to the Mac.The new iMac is awesome, iPhoto is just incredible. Apple is gonna make huge $$$$$ with the prints and make-your-book service. That is brilliant.

To those leaving, see ya, ta taa, later. Your loss.

I'm sure you realize Apple Mhz and PC Mhz don't match.

I've been using a PC (Win2k) at work and absolutely am Dying to get back to a Mac - Have a Dell at home so I can work at home, but have my old reliable iMac Rev B there too. Been waiting for a good reason to get back to Mac and the new iMac is sure close to it!

Mac lover ever since I got the original Mac II - which still runs by the way!

Hopefully something will be ready by Tokyo, that's all I can think. Apple has created a *disaster* in its lineup by making the iMac nearly as powerful as the PowerMac.

That's NOT to say that I didn't enjoy the expo - I think Apple is dead-on with everything it released. But we all need to realize that there is a problem which needs to be addressed quickly - as in this quarter.

I don't blame any pro user here who is feeling let down. But I'd also give it a month or two before jumping ship entirely. Things will get better.

Unfortunately your eyes cannot resolve anything faster than about 70fps.

Nevertheless, the PowerMacs do look a bit old right now.
