Basically I've got a good running box with latest version of Ubuntu on it. I've managed to install a few good game demos, running Nvidia restricted drivers to get OpenGL, etc.



It is a very enjoyable experience and now I am looking for a few more programs to enjoy my box a bit more. I've got Steam and Wine installed but it shows no letters. Picasa for photos. I'm looking for a few more recommendations on things to try out and have fun with on this OS.



Yes, my household still has three Mac's and they are all well loved. This is more of a never have to look at Microsoft again type process.

Congrats! It's always good to expand your horizons. I have an old computer sitting around that has been waiting forever for Linux treatment, too. With the Macs I have never had a real reason to boot it.
