upgrade issues

i was curious as to whether or not anyone has ever had issues upgrading their OS in the past. I have heard of a few problems and a couple horror shows when upgrading from an "older" mac. i have a powerbook g4 with the minimal amount of ram for Leopard (512MB) but my machine is sufficient in all other system requirements. I'm just nervous that something bad is going to happen to my laptop, but I also have been following the release of Leopard and I am very excited for it and would love to be running it. So before I use up my iPhone rebate, I just wanted to make sure I'm not biting off more than my computer can chew! thanks.....

    Go for it, But I'd consider 1GB ram a sane default. 1GB can be purchased for $35 from eshop.macsales.com
