Hi, I'm very new to html, so I wondering if someone could guide me in the right direction.

I wrote a very simple page in text editor. I saved it as an HTML document. However when I open it in Safari it shows everything, including the code. So if someone could please help I would be grateful, thank you!

There's probably something wrong with your coding. Run it through a validator.
