Major issue: system has troubles exiting from stops

hi guys...

I've a trouble really perplexing to me...

Everytime my system (MB 1st generation...) goes in stop (i.e. hard disk goes to sleep..)

it goes in stop forever....kernel panic and so on

Leopard installed from scratch and firmware updated..

please help me!!

    If you live near an Apple Store, get some genius to fix it for you(?)
