slow upload speeds with iDisk using Transmit software
hi
from doing a bit of research i understand that upload speeds to iDisk should be quicker with an FTP application such as Transmit than with finder. however i am only getting upload speeds of around 20KB/s when my internet connection is capable of 200KB/s upload speeds (1.5 Mbps) (which i can get using other applications for other purposes). so is the restriction something to do with iDisk itself and is there any way of improving the upload speed?
thanks

This is using Transmit 3.6.1 which may not be fully compatible with leopard as yet.
I was just about to post about this
I have a Macbook and a Mac pro
both running OS 10.5.8 with all the same browsers etc..
for some reason the Macbook is fine with idisk
and communicates quickly and uploads and downloads fine
but the Mac pro ? different story.
drops out all the time , doesn't connect , won't upload , tried Goliath, everything, still no good.
very frustrating because it's my work computer, it's the one with all the files on
so I've been transferring stuff to the Macbook and uploading from there.
so
transmit is the solution.
I was told idisk wasn't ftp compatible so I never even tried Transmit
but IT IS compatible and Transmit WORKS
and it's VERY quick! hooray !
so check it out if you are struggling with idisk
