Will the Mini get the same MacBook upgrades?

Hello,

I was under the impression that a Mini is made from the same components as a MacBook. Soo.. will the Mini be upgraded to Santa Rosa (err, Crestline + GMA X3100 for all you Nazis)? If so, what kind of time frame would you estimate?

Thanks.

I do not think mini will get a similar update for the processor. It probably will be redesigned.

I do not expect the Mac mini to get Santa Rosa for at least two updates. The next update the Mac mini will get is 802.11n with a processor speed bump and keep the GMA 950 graphics.

The rumors are that the Mac Mini will be replaced by the Mac Nano. I expect the Mac Nano will be based on Santa Rosa.

I certainly don't ecpect a upgrade for the mini. It is recently updated and there are indeed a lot rumors going on about quiting the mini-line and starting with a nano-line.

The mini should be replaced by a desktop mid tower with on video and pci-e slots on the low end and shiping with a video card on the higher end.

Mac nano rumor comes from Mac OS Rumors, which has gotten nothing right in the last few years. We are talking about iMac gaming edition ("iMac Extreme"), Power Mac G6, Leopard being twice as Tiger in major operations, built-in Bit Torrent on Leopard, 40" plasma Apple display, etc.
