changed router...safari goes nuts.

like the title says, i was using a signal from another router...i changed to my own and now my connection sucks. the previous signal was just a simple linksys wireless router and now have a dlink wireless n router. my girlfriend's pc works on it fine, but my mac is lagging so bad. i suspect the problem is me doing something wrong on the mac (i just got it 3 days ago and it's my 1st mac). please help in anyway...it's such a shame to have this computer hampered by this.
