If you have the cash, get the Pro. It has a bigger monitor, which is the primary reason to get it. Alternatively, you could get a macbook in addition to a large monitor that you keep at your desk.

For graphics, the most important asset is a large screen. Looking back, I can't believe I used to get by with the small screens of yore -- a lot of mousing around.

Like Splinemodel said, it's really based on how much money your willing to spend.

They just updated the macbooks graphics card so, if I were in your boat, I would probably get the macbook. But that's based on how much money I'm willing to spend.

But the macbook pro is definitely the best way to go.

i depends what you use it for.

If you use it lightly or for school work, get the Macbook.

If you do graphic design, any multimedia editing, games, etc, get the Pro.

    It breaks down like this:

    Macbook Pros:

    Price

    Size

    Macbook Pro Pros:

Size (depending on what you use it for)

Faster CPU (much faster if you option the 2.6, going by the benchmarks)

Graphics card (as opposed to integrated graphics in macbook)

    Better hard drive

    much higher resolution screens

    aluminum exterior

    more connectivity options

Basically if you have the money or don't find yourself on long airplane trips every week, get the PRO. It does everything noticeably better. yes, you can tell the difference.

If you are able to, I suggest waiting until after MWSF to purchase. See what come out then as there may be a greater performing machine available by then.

MacBookPro 2.4ghz 15" model. You won't regret it. Given Leopard and a lot of apps, pushing the GPU more, an 8600M GT 256mb is an very useful graphic card in the MacBookPro 2.4ghz.
