I actually like the look of Leopard. The semitransparent Menu Bar looks like just the right combo of eye candy and function to be next gen. The Dock has really grown on me as well and the metal platinum look is much more pleasing than I though it would be and better than it looks like in pictures. There are really two main issues that now need to be addressed:

    1) the mishmash of Platinum and Aqua. A couple apps have new iTunesesque sliders and scroll bars while the rest has aqua. they need to finish the consistency, although I hope the itunesesque scrollbars are replaced as well.

    2) The ultimately lame upward casting Dock shadow. What on God's green earth is up with that? It does not do any more to help to distinguish the icons than the Tiger version or even a 0 distance shadow. They must do something with this. I think everyone who has ever done design work themselves is totally confused on this one.

I think it is safe to say that with the GUI inconsistencies, odd design choices, and more issues with upgrade installs and such that Leopard was slightly rushed. Apple may have chosen to launch and patch rather than suffer the humiliation of another delay. However, I wish they would have delayed it again to ensure a more solid shipping product. Let's hope they can address these minor quibbles with the same point updates that handle the more technical issues.
