Decision: White 24-in vs Aluminum 24-in iMac ? ? ?

I need to buy two new iMacs with 24-inch (not 20-inch) displays. I can purchase either i) the newest ALUMINUM iMac or ii) the previous WHITE iMac (they are still available NEW from some Apple resellers).

I generally buy the latest generation of Apple products. However, I don't want to have to deal with the various screen issues (glare from glass, light/dark regions, freeze-ups, etc.) reported by many alum iMac owners on this discussion board.

My questions are:

a) Is the WHITE 24-inch monitor and computer really free from major defects and issues?

b) Would YOU recommend the WHITE (albeit slower) over the ALUMINUM iMac?

Thanks for this help.

Dale

I have both versions of the 24" iMac in my house. My advice? Get the newer one.

(Unless you personally have actually had issues with screen glare.)

I can second his advice, get the Al one.

I have a 24" white at work and a 24" Al at home. I like the Al better because the white bounces more light back at ya so I find myself wishing it were black to tone down the reflectiveness of the white.
