Installing Xfree86

Is there a good website describing how this is done?

There was a MacAddict article in August, but I believe it was written for 10.0.4

Any 10.1 tips?

Also, are the 10.1 developer tools available for download from Apple?

Check out fink.sourceforge.net. It is the best repository for UNIX apps on the Macintosh. XFree86 is only one of the many great apps they have under version control. They have source code and binaries.

When I wanted to run XWindows with no muss/no fuss I purchased an academic license for XTools by tenon systems. For $100 I gained access to their top notch system (based on XFree86) which allows X11 applications to work side-by-side native OS X apps. And I could channel my connections through my SSH shell. Halleluyah, Amen!
