Possible proposal: OSX developer site to co-ordinate projects

Do you all know sourceforge? Well, I was thinking that it would be a good idea to have a sourceforge style (or even powered) site for MacOSX. This would be a place to bring developers together, create new projects, find the experts that are needed for a particular task, advertise new apps, advocate the OS and generally get a community of developers together. It could become a place to publish FAQs, programming articles, advice on how best to charge for shareware (and when to use opensource), etc.

I was thinking that rather than having an "owner" it should be a community driven site. My questions would be:

1) Is this a good idea?

2) Would anyone be interested?

3) Does anything like this already exist for OSX?

Thanks,

Hewligan

Why not use sourceforge itself? Last I heard they had OS X machines in the test farm...

Yeah, obviously sourceforge would be the best place to coordinate the actual development trees, but I was thinking more that a site to bring the community together, to discuss projects, etc....

Sourceforge is a great resource and it would be stupid not to use it.
