student purchase advice

So here's the dilemma: I need to purchase a new computer but I'm confused as to what fits the best. It boils down to the 24" imac 2.4ghz intel core 2 duo with 2gb of memory vs. the 15" macbook pro 2.2 ghz.

The versatility of the macbook pro is appealing since I am a student who goes to the library. However, I'm involved with a magazine and need a more suitable computer to run the adobe creative suite. I'm currenting using an ibook g4.

Any advice?

A macbook pro will run the Adobe programs just fine.

    I say, always go portable.

I plan on getting one of the new macbooks next year with 4Gb of RAM.
