First of all if these questions have been asked I apologize. I did a quick search and couldn't find all my answers.

I would like to install leopard, but I was wondering if it would be possible not to have to re-install everything. I'm new to macs and I'm used to Windows where if you install a newer version over the old it is kind of buggy.

Also, I have this program called tivo to go where I transfer tivo recordings to my macbook. Do you guys know if it will work with Leopard? I use Tivo Toast by Roxio.

Thanks

If you are running 10.3 or 10.4 you should be O.K to install leopard over your old OS, i did and its barely buggy at all. As for your tivo, most programs that work on tiger will work on leopard, but i would call the company and ask, if possible.

My experience is a user away from Mac since 10 came out. My MB Pro came with 10.4 something and was only used for a week or less while getting my feet wet. Fortunately before loading 10.5 I did a back up to a FW drive that booted and ran fine. I?m one that likes challenges and thinks that reading directions is admitting defeat until totally frustrated. Very fortunately I used the FY BU to dig me out a # of times trying to install 10.5 the softest easiest ways. I had many different problems booting and finally did a clean install of 10.5 and a migration from my FW BU. Yesterday I installed 10.5.1 without a hitch that I know of, in fact boot time is 32 seconds till the hard drive shows on the monitor. Unless some hidden problem is there I?m a happy camper!
