Time Machine Will Not Back-up External Drives?

Before I buy a 1 TB drive for Time Machine use, I now hear that Time Machine is designed only to back up the internal main drive, not other external drives that are connected to the Mac. That seems impossible to believe. With a ton of folks using FCP and obviously storing their massive video segments on external drives, that would seem like a big oversight for high gigabyte data users.

Any truth to this?

Thanks.

Indeed, you can backup other external drives. It's really simple, here's how:

    1. Open System Preferences

    2. Click on Time Machine under 'System'

    3. Click Options

    4. Highlight the external drive you wish to backup

    5. Click the minus, or remove button

    6. Click Done!

    That should do the trick.
