US iPhone-in-UK Power Adaptor

Why hello there!



After a quick search in these forums, I don't believe this question has already been asked.



I have a typical US-to-UK power adaptor.

Will this work fine with my iPhone, without blowing up this beautiful charming product?

    Look at the label of the white Apple USB power adaptor.

    Mine says (in tiny grey on white letters)

    "Input 100-240V"



    If yours says the same, you'll be fine.



    UK mains power is a jolting 240Volts AC @ 50Hz

    Apple sells a world travel kit, although it would be nice to choose country specific bits, that replace the little removable part of your powerbrick.

    On my adaptor, I am seeing:



    Input: 100 - 240V~ 0.15A (0,15A) 50-60 Hz Output 5V --- 1A



    That seems good enough for me.

    Just to be safe I'm gonna get me one of these, and slap the British plug on the USB cable adapter.







    They're £19 in the U.K., and I think a little cheaper in Argos. I figure it must be safe if it's made by the same company.

    You should be able to plug that in to the Queens-Own-Voltage without it going bang, and blue smoke pouring out of it.

    (Which is precisely what happens to US XBox Devkit when exposed to 240 volts!)
