Odd backlighting - should I return?

Hello everyone.

I have received my new SR 2.2 MacBook (my first Mac, I might add) 2 days ago and contrary to most posts on forums, mine didn't have any problems (no keyboard shut-offs, no buzzing, and even no dead pixels). However, after using my MacBook for a day, I've noticed that the backlighting is a bit uneven. If I open up a full screen black image, I can see that the bottom of the screen is slightly brighter (or lighter) than the top. Consequently, if I tilt the screen backwards, the top will become brighter, but generallly speaking, when I look straight down at the screen, it's the bottom that is a little brighter.

I was wondering if that is what they call backlight bleeding? Anyway, I have 14 days to make up my mind and either keep the MacBook or return it and get my money back and get a new one, without any guarantee that the new one will be any better.

What should I do? Is this common for notebook screens? Is this even a problem? Should I just stop being picky and be happy that I don't have any bigger problems with my mac?

Thanks in advance.

Have a look at a few Apple shops and compare your MacBookPro display with the demo models.
