Leopard, External HD, Spotlight, and Indexing woes.

I use a G-SAFE. Almost entirely for Time Machine, but also for a few other things, for instance, I use Aperture vault back-up as well.

Anyways, the only thing I've used it for recently (since I've gotten Leopard) has been Time Machine. It seems like the drive is being indexed by spotlight QUITE often, and I don't really know why this is. Also, it's not a quick index but a rather long one. What gives?

In the Spotlight control panel, you can set your Time Machine drive to privacy so it's not indexed.

I'm not really worried about it being indexed so much as why it's being index so frequently.

But I suppose setting it to not index the G-SAFE fixes the problem in a round-about way, as long as Time Machine isn't dependent somehow on the indexing of the drive...
