Embedded MacOS X
Embedded Linux/Java more over, here comes embedded MacOS X. Not just for the iWalk, but also for a whole new generation of intelligent consumer devices linked together with firewire. TV set-top boxes, digital HiFi. Way ahead of PalmOS / WinCE / Epoc.
Apple is now the new consumer electronics company. The intelligent device company.
If the iWalk is true, that is probably what the "way beyond" means.

I totally see it happening with some consumer electronics running embedded OS X.

So OS X can barely run on a Mac with 128 MB of RAM and we're to think Apple's going to stick it in a PDA?

Your right, they'd probably have to disable the genie effect.
It's not just the genie effect that slows down the whole OS. Perhaps they won't use Quartz for rendering every single pixel, or maybe they will use a light-weight version.

If they come out with a lightweight version of Quartz, I hope they'll put it in the main OS as well.
Maybe they'll get OSX to work properly on the desktop first?
