10.4.10-- software update and installer quits
I have a G5 PowerPC tower and a iBook G4. Both have been upgraded to 10.4.10 The iBook works fine, however the G5 Software Update now quits unexpectedly. I downloaded the 10.4.11 update as a standalone and tried to install that-- but now the actual Installer up and quits unexpectedly, too.
I've run disk verification and repair off the Tiger CD. I've rebooted and zapped the PRAM. Still nothing.
So, before reinstalling Tiger all over again, is there anything else I can try? I've been toying with the idea of purchasing Leopard-- will installing that fix the issue?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Also look at the Installer.log - open Console.app in Utilities and look for both Installer.log and crash.log. Look for Install.log under /var/log down at the bottom of the list on the left in Console.
I think it's worth deleting the file com.apple.installer.plist in your home folder Library/Preferences.

So when I look at the Installer.log, am I looking for something to delete? - laurel
