Leopard: is Growl for Mail working yet? Or alternatives?

Now that I'm all settled into Leopard, I'm really missing Mail Appetizer (a Mail preference pane that would pop up a notification window (that would also let you delete and reply to emails) whenever you got an email.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work with Leopard (and appears to be no longer supported).

Growl seems to be the only Leopard-compatible alternative, but, alas, the last I checked its Mail plug-in doesnt work yet.

Does anyone know if it's available yet? (Or other ideas for new Mail notification popups?

Thanks.

Found this fix on the version tracker website.

    1. Ensure that Mail.app is not running.

    2. Launch Terminal and enter these two commands:

    defaults write com.apple.mail EnableBundles 1

    defaults write com.apple.mail BundleCompatibilityVersion 3

    3. Move the Mail.appetizer bundle from the folder ~/Library/Mail/Bundles (Disabled) back to ~/Library/Mail/Bundles.

    4. Launch Mail.app -- all should be well again.

Had to set ~/Library/Mail/Bundles/Mail.appetizer.mailbundle/Contents/Resources/BBNotificationServer.app to be in all spaces in Spaces preferences - then it appears in whichever space you are in when mail arrives.

    Hope that helps
