QuickBooks bug will delete all items on your Desktop
I just received this warning from my local MacSpecialist store.
Quote:
QuickBooks bug WILL DELETE ALL ITEMS ON YOUR DESKTOP!
A weird bug with QuickBooks 2006 started today. This is really bad stuff. Alert anyone you know that uses QuickBooks for Mac -- encourage them to only move everything off their desktop before starting QuickBooks!
starting today:
1. When you launch Quickbooks, it gives an error about an update that can't run because your drive is full ("needs 100 bytes").
2. It then ERASES YOUR DESKTOP FOLDER --- that's right -- EVERYTHING on your desktop! Then upon restart, the computer creates a replacement one (empty of course) -- no signs of the files from the original.
MacSuperstore can do data recovery, but we'd love to prevent it from happening. Recovery is more likely if computer shut down and not used after it happens.
For more info, check out the forum on Intuit's site:

Let's hope Intuit has a fix SOON!
Pardon the interruption!
