Anyone know of an application that will print Form 1098. Neither TurboTax of MacinTax does this. I need to fill out a bunch of these and hate the idea of having to do it by hand.

Thanks,
For some reason the IRS does not want to let you fill out form 1098 with a pdf. Something about a $50 fine if you do. Only other alternative is to fill it out longhand which I dread.

I could see this kind of attitude (insane rule) coming from an 11th grade anal english teacher (are their any other kind) but from the US gov? Well okay now that I think about it they are a close second when it comes to making up inane rules and protocols...
But what on Gods green earth is so special about an 'IRS form 1098' that makes people think it could/should only ever be processed 'by hand' and thinking about it... I know I could google it but... anyway, wouldn't a rule like that be an affront to people with serious medical problems who simply can't do things 'by hand' any longer - but can still interact just fine with the aid of a computer?
Sure sounds like something that some lawyer somewhere can make a bucket of publicity from...
