iMac Monitor Snap Apart?

Could anybody tell me if the base, arm, and monitor are all one piece? Or can you snap them apart or something? It would seem rather clumsy to unscrew the bottom of the base to add memory or air port with monitor still attached. Also, it would be cool if it could snap apart for traveling and such. Could someone tell me if it is all one piece or can it come apart?
