Can't upload my dvds

I'm trying to add my DVDs to my iPod,but my computer isn't even finding the disk in the drive. What's going on????

    First, check your settings in System Preferences > CDs & DVDs. Make sure "When you insert a movie DVD" is not set on "Ignore".

    Follow blackbird's advice, then if that works use Handbrake to rip the DVDs to an iPod friendly format .

    have dvds ever appear in my computer?

    (if so when did they stop appearing)

    yes it did used to appear, but now its not in " My Computer".

    have you tried for other dvds? as it could be a problem with just that disc.



    Otherwise it would suggest a larger problem rather than just one with itunes
