I can't read spanish at all but i wonder if anyone can comment on an article that I found from brasil? ( not sure)

here's the link

I geuss that like most others i'm hoping for the best by march after a fairly disapointing sfmacworld. Possibly this is good new in the face of the fact that the delay may be sign of bigger than excpected leaps in technology including 2 ghz machines, gigawire (may or may not also support a slew of telecom devices in addition to standard peripherals), ddr memory and possibly new monitor technology (oled; pricey at first but far superior to lcd technology and still much less expensive than plasma). Apple's technology has overall allways been behind comparable pc revisions so nothing new there. Regretfully it's times like this that mac users have to have patientce not normally excpected of tech consumers. Someday soon we may see the pc slayer. Ikeep telling myself that. With 2.4ghz machines in the pc market apple needs to catch up badly (twice as fast ok i'll buy the ghz rhetoric but three to four times as fast with better components, not acceptable. If nothing changes I may consider buying a pc in about a year but that's only after a year of excpectations and further let downs. ( I doubt it) from what I can tell2nd quarter is going to be huge. It has to be otherwise apple will lose faithfull professionals simply because the hardware cannot perform despite winning software . I doubt that as well the new imac is evidence of that. <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" />

Um, no. That's a mockup for the G4 that's been around for a year or so.

Bable fish is my hero :

"The site " Brycetopia " considers a vision (very personal) of the PowerMacG5 future . A suspended white ball on 4 feet without no cable! The machine uses the Airport version 2 to communicate with its peripherals, included the monitor. This all processing for G5, currently developed in the Motorola.

This pretty globe that is to see, is a supercomputer without no wire. " The PowerMac G5, the power to burn, now in a spherical form ", says the slogan of " the Brycetopia ".

The future computer of the apple? It is not well thus, exactly if some are the wait. It is of fact a page of the site Brycetopia, copied in the model of the site of the Apple, and full of pictures created for the Bryce , the software of creation of very realistic pictures. An artistic accomplishment to give envy!

This " utopia " is based on technologies still in development to consider a vision of the future. Where we find then a Power Mac G5 equipped with the next processor of the Motorola, announced with 1.5 GHz and capable to be faster 83% to the one than a Pentium 4 of the same power! But entusiasmante it is not however the power. Brycetopia make reference to reference Airport 2, an evolution of the norm Wi-Fi or IEEE 802.11b, capable over all to supply aerial debits (without wires) until in the distance of 200 feet (60 meters)! One says that the next evolution to the Airport will be exactly capable to supply debits that will go up to 100 Mb per seconds (at least 54 Mb/s in the initial versions). The site considers to bind the monitors to the central unit, in this way good bye to the cables of transmissions of signs videos. The processor would start to be alone a on unit of handling for waves to the peripherals and the transports of saÃ*da/entrada.

A dream perhaps, but the processor G5 is same in development: they circulate rumors that to less than two weeks had assays carried through in archetypes of processors PowerPC G5 in the laboratories of Cupertino. G5 will be the next generation to processors of the PowerPC family. It is foreseen nominated in supporting in a development multiprocessings, will be a part of the reply of the tróica Apple-IBM-Motorola in the race to the GHz, to another part is based on the philosophy of the conception, that would allow to make different processors with the same architecture. The site Macosrumors indicates, at this moment, an archetype that was shown to the two partners of the Apple.

In the program: 2 GHz and multiprocessing

The strategy is to consider the multiprocessing the imbatÃ*veis prices, favours the economies of possible scales in the production of processors. G5 could go up until the 2 GHz, but not only consider up to 4 processes of simultaneous calculation. The funny processor more than the 64 bits and will have a memory cache of level 526 L2 of 256 or Kb. It will go to function with the last generation of motherboard of the Apple, the the 200 UMA-2 functioning MHz and will go to use memories DDR. One of the archetypes presented carried through some operations under Mac the X the 1.33 speed of 0.9 and GHz, but it blinded quickly, what it demonstrates the work path still to cover, before its commercialization. This presentation to the strategical partners of the Apple alone can mean a thing: the output of a Mac G5 is programmed, and probably more quickly of the one than we imagine, because in the industry an archetype in a state very little evolved does not reveal habitually. However we dream a little in front to the model considered for the Brycetopia."
