I'm really REALLY starting to dislike "The Register"

So they choose to publish only the positive-feedback letters on their lousy articles. Talk about mis-leading propaganda!!









EDIT: ooops...it seems they did post some of the negative feedback in part one, but I still think what they do is spawning propganda for their misguided ideas!

    They're a shedload more Apple-friendly than Ars, for a start.



    I agree, the piece and the follow-up were a trifle dumb in my opinion; however, it is interesting from my point of view as someone who took to the new interface pretty quickly and found it sped my life up a *lot* to see how the old guard feel.

    The Register pays a lot of attention (perhaps even too much when taking in the industry as a whole) to the Mac community, and is often a decent source of information on stuff like microprocessors from Motorola.



    By and large their articles on Apple are very positive, but they thrive on humor. Just because they don't suck Jobs' sack in EVERY article doesn't mean they are even slightly anti-Mac.

    Outside of the fact that they do pay more attention to Apple (good for them), they are another online tabloid publication (bad for them). They say pretty much anything for a hit, well, anything topical to computers.

    I'd say their articles have been pretty well edited. They are actually becoming more Apple friendly I think, given their unix following. They just don't see Jobs as a saviour.



    I do think they are off in their assessment of OSX though, especially since I doubt many of them use Macs.



    They are very quick to give Apple technological props.

    My thoughts exactly. Macs get a lot of attention there & it's usually positive. Additionally they talk about a lot of related issues like ram, Mot, new Hard Drives, etc. Very good news site for Mac users IMHO (as a supliment to normal mac sites).

    When it comes to OS X the Register just doesn't get it. I think they are a bunch of Windows drones who like OS X because of it's buzzwords, but would never, ever try using OS X because they fear Macs.
