How's your ISP?
Just curious how satisfied people are with their various ISPs.
1) What is your ISP?
2) About how much do you pay per month?
3) How fast is it ACTUALLY (upload and download speeds) – (speedtest.net)
4) Bandwidth limit?
5) Are you satisfied with it?

1. Comcast
2. @ $45.00
3. Today - 5802 k down. 1508 k up (occasionally 1700)
4. The claim is @ 11000 down/ 2000 up. I have gotten @ 8 down - but rarely.
5. Hell NO. Consumer Reports (February 2008) rates Comcast 19th out of 22. No. 1 is Verizon FIOS. WOW is no. 2. Cox is no. 5.
Japan and other countries get far better bandwidth.
14500 down
1500 up
i pay $75 a month for internet, expanded cable with all hbo and all encore.
comcast is ok as long as I keep getting deals from them, otherwise they can come and pick all their stuff up and I will do without any of it. BTW, cable is the only hispeed service here in teh stix.
I pay $42/month and I get around 3500kbps down and I'm suppose to get the same up (because it's not DSL or Cable), but I usually get around 1500kbps up. The huge problem though is that they only allow 250MB/day of "priority bandwidth," and it gets really really slow (100kbps) if you go over the limit. You can buy 250 extra for $10/month extra, which is why I pay $42 -- I get 500MB. It's $32 for the standard 250.
I'm interested in switching to comcast for their unlimited bandwidth, but I'm still not sure.
