I am considering switching to Mac and with the Macworld Expo coming, I am curious about updates will affect pricings for the macbook. Anyone have any speculations or examples of past price changes?

MacBooks have always been $1099, 1299, and 1499. The deal you can get, though, is going to the "clearance" or "refurb" section just after the keynote is over and picking up what is the current model today. The only thing that is possible for them to do to make the new MacBook THAT much more wonderful is if they change the casing.

Is the ultra slim going to be in the macbook line? If so, and if that is priced at 1499, wouldn't alter the current lineup?
The ultraslim, if it is released, is likely to be more upscale. If it depends on solid state memory instead of a hard drive it's especially likely to be upscale just to cover the cost of the memory.
Apple has been known to fiddle with the exact price points within $100 or so, but that's the extent of it. If a product gets a little too old to justify its price they refresh it with a new one.
