This is by far the most hyped keynote ever.

Perhaps not for true old-school Applle fans, but from a general tech-freak point of view, it is.

The amount of news and buildup to this on pretty much every tech site out there, the dozens of mockups and rumours, people camping outside the Moscone 21 hours in advance...

And for what? I mean OK he might anounce some cool stuff, but it's just gonna be a Keynote like they come at least twice a year...

Certainly not "by far the most hyped keynote ever", unless you specify some time borders , but there is some evident excitement around here. Then there will be the dissapointment, the "keynote sucks" and "Apple is doomed" tradition, and then the dust will settle down. Same thing every year.

"Full speed ahead warp factor 5"

"Beyond the rumor sites, way beyond"

    Etc etc

Not the most hyped, but I get a feeling it will be the same disappointment.

Yes the iMac G4 intro was perhaps more hyped in the "Mac fan club" but since then the number of people who care about the keynote has gotten wayyyy bigger. There's a much bigger crowd of spectators now if you know what I mean. More technology news sites are participating in the hype, that's what I mean. Just look at the amount of news about it on Engadget just to nmae one, which is supposed to be a general allround technology site. Apple themselves don't hype it too much I think, the banner on Apple.com is a bit bigger but that's it.

    .

    Seriously,

I do believe we will see something like the "Air" photoshop thing. That will put an Apple digital server in the center of your home.

I also think they will release a "touch" mouse pad. I know it is nothing earth shattering, but it will improve my productivity and bring the

    iPhone experience to the Mac.

I have been a mac user since the Quadra days and a lurker hear since Rhapsody. The computer industry continues to mature and after the

iPhone, there are going to be fewer products that truly WOW :-) us! How much would a touch Newton improve upon the iPod Touch and the iPhone?

I for one do not think it's the most-hyped. But, they are ALL good. I am staying home today. Sorry, boss.

Oh ok then, perhaps it's because this is the first keynote or event of some sort where I'm actually a Mac owner myself that I pay more attention to all the craziness going on. Been following up Apple since 2003 or so though.

Well...I dunno. A new cool multi-touch Mac might be pretty exciting. I don't think that's 3-5 years away even if it doesn't happen today. Next year at the latest.
