As much as it was a thrill to see the new skinnybook, I'm a little bummed. Been waiting for a couple of months, hoping for a new chip set and/or multitouch pad on the MBP. I'm so revved up to get one, I'll probably go ahead and do it, only to have an updated model come out soon after. Dang.

Agreed. The MBP didn't even get Penryn. Very disappointing. I is sad.

I think apple did really well to not piss off anyone who got their products this year for christmas! No updates for their existing products that couldn't be updated if you noticed...

I think these kinds of updates they'll make in the coming months to avoid anger (besides I read somewhere..sorry I don't have the link...) that February was bringing the new processors for Macbook Pro.

note: i'm not counting the people angry about the possible use of airport extreme vs the new time capsule thing.

So, in your estimation, someone who paid close to $3,000.00 USD for a Mac Pro tower in mid December ISN'T pissed off right now? That is not why Apple did not announce an update for the Macbook Pro. I read a post by another AI member who said that they felt like Apple probably didn't want the Macbook Pro update to outshine the announcement of the Macbook Air, and I think that this is more than likely what they were trying to avoid. They are asking very close to Macbook Pro prices for a, albeit thinner, less powerful machine.

I feel like Apple has forgotten all about their core customers, those of us that have been loyal for years and years. I've waited three months for the MBP refresh, and still nothing. I just can't justify paying $1000 premium for technology that is a generation back. I'll pay Apple extra for comparable specs, but not for inferior specs. I never thought I'd say it, but I'm switching to a PC, a laptop with an i5 or i7 chip. I need a new computer NOW, and am not waiting any more.

Good luck with that. I'd rather use my old iBook SE466 than a new i5 or i7 Windoze box.

I'm sure new MB Pros will be out by Spring, though...

I was also hoping for any new info on a refresh.

The GPU is really outdated. I want specs like the Envy 15 with Core i5 and HD5830 in an MBP. Spring is to late for me. I would have bought the Envy if those HP idiots didn't put a P55 Chipset in there. How dumb can you be. With an i5 you have a GPU sitting in there you cannot use no matter what. There is just one chip sitting there completely useless.

This ipad looks pretty ugly on the pictures. Don't you think. It reminds me a little of the first iteration of the Asus EEE. But they got the price kind of right. I think this thing would have been a disappointment for apple if it wasn't price around 500$. Still expensive but better than, what some rumors suggested and leaves room for price cuts.
