Help needed with special ethernet config
I have an old Powerbook G3 (bronze keyboard) that has a
problem with its ethernet. It works in at 10Mb/s but not
at 100Mb/s. Under OS9, I got around this problem by using
the "Apple Ethernet Speed and Duplex Tool" to force the
ethernet device to 10/HalfDuplex. I'd like to try running
OSX on this machine. However, I haven't yet found a way to
do the same thing under OSX. I suspect that either sysctl
or ifconfig could do the trick, but I haven't found enough
detailed info to figure out a fix.
Does anyone know how I can force (in software) the ethernet
not to Auto Negotiate but to choose 10/HalfDuplex mode?
Does anyone know where I can find additional info on the
various arguments that sysctl takes? Same for ifconfig.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
