I Need to Back Up My Photos in IPhoto

I'm getting ready to install Leopard, but I want to make sure all of my data is backed up first. What is the easiest/recommended way to back up my photo's that are in IPhoto to my external hard drive?

    Open your Home folder, click and drag the Pictures folder to an external volume.

    Or you can go into iPhoto, Share Menu, then Burn - if you want a hard copy on DVD. This method will retain all the metadata you may have for the photos
