MagSafe Connector Issue

My MagSafe power chord just recently broke. After about a year and a half of pulling it out of its slot, it eventually ripped where the chord and magnetic connector was attached. Is there a better way of unplugging the device? It's not like a violently ripped it out of the plug. Just a simple pull away did the trick.



Any advice?

    Were you yanking it straight our or lifting it at an angle as you removed it? Tilting and lifting breaks the magnetic seal with less pressure on the cable/connector itself.

    It an angle. Never straight on. I never expected it would rip off like it did. For the new one I just got though, I'll probably be disconnecting it by holding the cord close to the mag connector.

    I just put my finger under the connector itself, and pull up to break the magnetic lock - no stress on the cable that way.
