Recently I tried to move my GIMP Dock Icon to a different space on the dock, and somehow managed to drop it behind the dock. Now it's transparent and I can't remove it. It shows up on top of every window too. Any help trying to remove this? Screenshots below:

Use finder to navigate to your desktop in either column view or list view.

    Delete the offending file.

It's not showing up in finder, in any view. I tried searching for it in Spotlight and still no luck.

    Any other suggestions?

try moving the dock to the side or top and then move the icon. Then move the dock back.

What you have there is the lingering sprit of a dead gimp. It haunts your desktop because it feels it has unfinished business there. The frozen grin of its spectral form is only a mask, concealing unbearable sorrow.

Try talking to it. Ask it what it wants. Only by helping it to resolve its lingering entanglements can you aid in ushering it on to the next plane, and its true destiny.

There are two dock-related pref files on my Mac: ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.dock.db and ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.dock.plist

Try dragging those out of /Prefs, and into the trash...then restart.
