Apart from the power saving and possible SSE4 improvements, I don't think there will be much advantage in the processor upgrade. It's usually 10-20% improvement or thereabouts, which in real-world tasks is not even noticeable.
I have a fear that Apple will move to glass displays like the Macbook Air so that's a possible downside. GPU I'd think would stay the same as it's already pretty good. Maybe a minor upgrade.
They should however have the new magsafe and magnetic latch.
The LED displays have been out for ages but they don't really look any different from a normal display to me.
An update could be coming any day now though because some of the PC manufacturers had a date of Jan 23 on their Penryn laptops. It's now the 26th and Apple are usually behind by a week or two.
I'd be surprised if there wasn't an update within 2 weeks. On the other hand, they maybe don't want to take any eyes off the new MB Air. Apple like to do that with some of their products. They deliberately cripple them so that others in the lineup look more appealing.
Instead of people saying for just $200 more, you could get a 2.2GHz MBP rather than a 1.6GHz MBA, people can say for just $200 more, you can get a 2.5GHz MBP rather than a 1.6GHz MBA. That difference is more significant and may lead people to assess whether or not the portability is worth such a high premium.

Welcome to AI.
Enjoy both!
Anyway, post some pics so we can drool on the computers that we're using right now.
