Time Machine doesn't recognize my older than 20 days backups.

This is dumb. Because I was away from my hard drive for more than 20 days, Time Machine no longer recognizes my old backups that it did. I guess I've lost everything.

    What makes you think that?

I'd connect my backup hard drive to my computer, and while it would mount, when I would click on the Time Machine Application icon, none of the previous backups would show.

Although I've never gotten the chance to use Time Machine myself, I think I might have a couple of ideas to try.

    1) Mount the hard drive, and look at the contents in the Finder. Is the Backups.backupdb folder there?

    2) If it is, try turning off, then turning back on Time Machine is System Preferences.

I hope that this idea helps.
