    I really think that article is right on. I think we are approaching a day when corporations will work hand in hand with open-source communities to create great applications. Some examples of this already exist in, Linux, Mac OS X (Darwin), Mozilla. And guess what, the platform of choice is going to be a unix variant. I really think Apple can capitalize on this opportunity with Mac OS X.



    Mac OS X and Linux are partners not competitors.

    *nix operating systems _do_ compete with each other, just like they compete with other operating systems.

    I see the market as starting to polarize between Windows and Unix. Because Linux and Mac OS X are both derived from Unix an increase in Unix's prevalence and popularity will help both systems out.
