Opening the Apple Mouse

This is going to sound a little strange, but does someone have any recommendations on opening the Apple mouse casing? It would be the white, wired mouse with the 'scroll ball.' The ball seems to be caught on something - I'm thinking dust or dirt - and I'd like to clean it up a bit, however I don't see any screws or anything keeping it together. Is there a way to open this thing up so that I don't break or damage it?

And yes, I am too cheap (poor) to buy a new one. =)

Thanks
