How to change my system user name?

Hello,

I was hoping it's possible to change my name in my system, as I've had a legal name change and the one I entered at the time of setting up my computer is no longer accurate.

I've managed to change my login name, but it still has me down for my old name in "So and So's Computer."

Can I fix this?

Thanks!

If you're talking about "Computer Name" or how your computer appears on a network, you can change that in System Preferences -> Sharing.

If you're talking about your user name as it appears in the file system (/Users/yourname/), that can be done but it's not so trivial.

Well, the first thing you said did what I wanted. So I guess that's all. Thanks!
