I was wondering if anyone knew which WebCams (QuickCams, PC Cam, etc.) work with OS X? I have searched and haven't been able to come up with anything.

Thanks!

    Last I read Apple does not support video over USB on the "World's Most Advanced Operating System". So stick to Firewire.

    A phillips tucam or something works, but I think that's all for USB.

    Patchouli,

    I had a similar question about a month ago. See <a href="http://forums.appleinsider.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=2&t=000495."; target="_blank">http://forums.appleinsider.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=2&t=000495.</a>; I'm ordering the Orange Micro iBot, but since my father-in-law is paying for it, it's taking a little bit longer than expected (surprise). I'll post my observations once I get the thing up and running.

    Phooey - I think the link is broken. Go to the current hardware forum and search for "web cam." The thread title is "Firewire Web Cam Recommendation Needed."

    As long as we're on this topic again...

    Last time I was looking at the <a href="http://www.irez.com"; target="_blank">iRez</a> digital/Firewire webcams, of which the offer two: the StealthCam and the KritterCam Digital. The specs on these two cameras look identical, but the KritterCam is about $120 more! Could form-factor alone justify something like an 85% price hike?

    Probly not your fault. You put the URL in and ended it with a "." and the UBB code thought it was part of the url like this <a href="http://www.apple.com."; target="_blank">http://www.apple.com.</a>;

    Well, I went with the PYRO 1394 WebCam and purchased the Driver from ioxperts. I just plugged it in, installed the driver and the Video Software (3rd party) saw the camera immediately. The camera takes excellent pictures and over a cable line (along with FireWire) it sends clear and fast video.

    It's not the most attractive camera out there, but it will do for now! Actually, in person it is the same graphite color as my iMac and it has a cool swivel back arm - so I actually like it, it fits. Right now, there isn?t much else out there and that Camera with the big foot at the bottom is just not for me.
